This degree of precision, paired with our Timken bearing system, eliminates the false torque and speed spikes that can plague other dynos. Our dyno consistently produces valid replicable results, so our expert technicians can tune with pinpoint accuracy.
Improve performance and fuel efficiency
Our custom built dyno monitors your engine’s response to repeated passes that simulate real-road conditions. With each pass, we electronically fine-tune your engine (or adjust the carb, ignition timing, jetting & AFR) until we see an even torque curve with smooth shift points. By the time we’re done, you will realize an overall gain in torque and horsepower and a noticeable improvement in throttle response and driveability right through to the redline! We will also adjust your air-to-fuel ratio to optimize the rate of fuel combustion through each piston stroke. With this optimized combustion, your vehicle will be more fuel efficient than ever!*
*While dyno tuning improves fuel efficiency, many other factors such as tire pressure, driver behaviour, load-weight, etc, have an impact on fuel consumption.
Improve factory settings
The power parameters of new stock vehicles are set for generic driving conditions, decent fuel economy, adequate acceleration, and to meet specific marketing targets. They are rarely optimized for the performance they’re capable of, or for any specific application, or for your unique driving patterns. At International Dyno Authority we custom tune to your specific needs. Whether it’s highway driving, or city driving, or towing a trailer, or more punch and horsepower, our experienced professionals will tune your car, truck, ATV, or bike until it is running at peak performance.
WILL A TUNE VOID MY WARRANTY?
This is one of the most commonly asked and debated questions on forums. Given all the debate on this topic, we cannot give you a definite “yes” or “no” answer.
However, we can tell you this, from our own experience.
- Over half of the chassis dyno tunings that we do are on late-model vehicles that are still under warranty.
- We have NEVER had a customer come back and tell us they had a warranty issue.
- Several Ottawa area dealers have even sent new car owners to us for tuning when they could not meet the customer’s expectations.
We do ALL of our chassis dyno tuning within OEM specs. This helps reduce the risk of any potential warranty issues and it also reduces the risk that you will run into any engine problems as a result of tuning. We’ve had numerous vehicles on our chassis dyno, which had aftermarket tunes installed that were well outside of factory specs. On more than one occasion, we’ve seen these improper tunes cause cracked manifolds, leaking valve cover gaskets, scored cylinder walls, and detonation. Staying within OEM specs does not result in underperformance. There is no need to exceed their specification range. Manufacturers tune new vehicles for generic driving conditions and leave plenty of power on the table for us to find.

Tuning after Performance upgrades
Just like with ECU tuning, tuning a carbureted vehicle improves responsiveness, power, and fuel efficiency. Tuning is done in much the same manner; however, instead of using a computer to change the parameters, engine components are adjusted and fine-tuned by hand using timing lights, carb gauges, and jetting kits.
If you’ve installed a new air intake system or invested in a high-end carburettor like a Holley or Edelbrock, you won’t tap into their full potential until you have the engine’s AFR and timing adjusted. Make your performance investment pay off by dyno testing and tuning your engine to ensure proper aspiration for the best possible torque and horsepower.
engine Break-in
Break-in is the most critical time in a rebuilt engine’s life. Performing the initial shakedown of your rebuild on the dyno is a great way to ensure future performance and engine life. Because we calibrate the engine load, you can be assured that all the rings will be tightly seated and that your cam lobes will be properly broken-in. And, after doing the break-in, we can proceed directly to tuning for power!

Brought my Merkur to get tuned after being parked for 4 years, during that time it got a built motor, transmission and turbo upgrade, Marc, Wally and Chris all did a spectacular job, even when scratching there heads for a couple issues, they kept on having a positive attitude and even tried to teach me a few things and show how the process is done, these guys are definitly beyond the definition of professional and will take care of your car and you, I completely recommend bringing your car, bike, anything with a motor and these guys will figure it out and will help make safe reliable power.

The best dyno shop in Ottawa ! They treat you like family. Very professional and knowledgeable. I had my 5th Gen Camaro SS tuned by Marc and Wally and left smiling from ear to ear. The car runs super great and I have absolutely no complaints. Marc explained everything clearly and Wally did his magic, they got the beast out of it ! 75HP increase and over 100TQ at the wheels. It feels and drives like a new car on steroids. I would highly recommend this place for your tuning needs.

Marc and Wally are great at what they do! It's a real pleasure to work with them. There's no pretense or posturing here just good honest HOT ROD experience. Marc answers the emails you send..good communication no flakiness like so called other tuners or experts...They were able to pull about 60 extra HP out of my 440 Charger. As well they had me back for a small adjustment I wanted done and Wally diagnosed the problem in about 3 minutes and tweaked the program on my MSD EFI and POW!!! Throttle response I was hoping for...wonderful....

Came in to get my axle and tire size recalibrated. Easy fix, but why stop there?.. you are at a Dyno shop! Woke my truck up from a 20 year nap. Less fuel, more power, and you wouldnt know my short box chev is a V6. The guys are great to deal with, very knowledgable, and talk honestly.
The guy that left before me said "You will love this". 60s guy in a 60s muscle car with a smile bigger than a kid with candy. He wasn't wrong.

International is Best dyno place hands down. I went to RSP Motorsports in London which was a big mistake. They destroyed my computer and made me pay for it. Truck never ran good after they touched it.
I called Mark and Wally and they took care of me and went out of there way to make sure my truck ran the best it could.
Fantastic guys to deal with.

These guys are top notch. This was my second vehicle tuned by Mark and Wally. I've done many mods to my Explorer ST and they made them all come together. My Explorer is a monster now but yet still tame enough to be a daily. Also i went to the dealer to have some unrelated work done and they ended up doing a update on my computer without my knowledge which ended up wiping oit my tune but Mark and Wally took care of me and were able to reload it back on no charge. I thought that was very commendable of them. Would highly recommend them for your tune.

I wanted to take a minute for this overdue feedback to express how grateful I am for the work that Wally and Marc did on my Cadillac CTS V. They saved my car, which I thought it was a lost cause. After another tuning garage from Calabogie worked on my car and almost ruined it- I sought out help from Marc and Wally, I am very grateful for them saving my car. Their expertise is incredible. I also had my Ford F350 tuned with them and it's awesome.

Top notch service and super easy to deal with. I recently had my EcoDiesel tuned after putting in a pedal commander that just made it more jerky and hunting for gears whilst giving me worse gas mileage. This tune smoothed everything out not just engine but transmission tune as well……and has made it even better on gas while having more HP. I can’t thank Mark and James enough:)

I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. With just a few hours of work, Wally was able to extract over 100WHP from my 2004 Z06 (low-mileage w/bolt-ons). The improvement in performance is remarkable and speaks volumes about Wally's skill and proficiency as a tuner.

What a great experience having my car properly tuned these guys knows what they’re doing. I purchased a used Ford Mustang with some modifications. Then I added some modifications of my own like long tube headers. I showed up for my appointment and right away. They were asking if I had any engine lights on. From adding the long tube headers I told him no I have no engine lights. Everything’s running fine. They set my vehicle and they proceeded to tune my vehicle within the first five minutes of them checking my vehicle. They found that The previous person had that turned the car shut off all the engine lights that’s why they were surprised that there wasn’t an engine light on. If I didn’t bring my vehicle to have it tuned properly by professionals I could’ve ruined my car engine lights are there for a reason no one likes to see them , but they sure can save your car or something does happen needless to say, after everything said and done, I had a 230hp gain of horsepower I just want to thank the staff so much for taking care of my vehicle like it was one of their own. What a great place to have your car professionally tuned.

Thanks to Marc and Wally for this amazing experience. I brought my 2021 Ram 1500 5.7 to have it tuned. After Wally made a few base passes now it was time to start fine tuning. After several passes Wally was able to get out of my truck +108 WTQ & +80 WHP from my best base pass. That is quite impressive!, I'm not driving the same truck. I recommend the experience to anyone that wants better power but also better fuel economy. Thanks guys for your professionalism. 😀

Marc, James and Moe did an amazing job getting my 2010 Acura TL tuned. They are all knowledgeable and explained everything throughout the dyno session. I even forgot to tell Moe about a modification I did, which resulted in a check engine light. He said no problem just come over to his house and he got that all squared away. Will definitely be coming back if I need to tune any cars in the future! I even added a photo to show just how much power they were able to squeeze out of the car!

I won a raffle at International Dyno Authority on June 9, 2024 for my 2010 Mustang GT convertible on their Mustang Dyno Day! The technicians, Mark and Wally, were very professional and did the job perfectly! They took their time and made several passes to make sure that the tune was the best for my Mustang. Wally & I then went for a test run, and I noticed a difference in the pick up and the shifting of the gears. I would highly recommend them to do your tune!

Went there to tune my 2024 civic. Due to weather conditions, I was unable to make it at our agreed time. They were very accommodating, offering me a spot next. We ended up tuning the car super late that night, but I do not regret a thing. They change the entire car it is amazing. I recommend you come here!!!!

I own a 2018 ford f350, 6.2 gas. The truck was sluggish on take off, and under powered on hills while towing. I reached out to international dyno and they explained their process of building a tune for the customers vehicle. The truck tune improved torque by approx 96 ft/lb, and approx 118 hp. An exciting by product was the fuel mileage improved by approximately 4 liters per100/km. I had several phone calls with them during the process. They were polite, patient while answering my many questions. Customer service was excellent. They cared about the final product - following up several weeks later to see how the truck was running. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

I drove 4 hours to have my 2023 3.5 tremor tuned and was very impressed with how they take the time and explain everything to you and you can watch the entire process. Very hands on experience. Was shocked at the horrible stock dyno numbers but they corrected that and it is running Great with a lot more power and got better gas mileage driving back with more hp and tq.
